COACHING IS:

Life Coaching is a partnership between you and your coach. This partnership is founded on equality, commitment, and trust. You will be empowered through the coaching relationship to identify and achieve your self- determined - personal and professional goals. This happens as your coach:

• Presents as an objective, goal-oriented, nonjudgemental sounding board for you to explore new satisfying methods of goal achievement
• Changes your focus to the here-and-now, specifically addressing your immediate needs to create a strong foundation for the future
• Helps you access and clarify the ideas/goals you may already hold, but are unable to articulate and set into action
• Challenges you to expand your thought process enabling you to make new and bold decisions
• Provides direction in times of confusion through objective third party advice
• Offers you emotional support while you move beyond your normal daily behaviors/activities to new behaviors/activities that fulfill your expatations of life
• Acknowledges and validates your growth and achievements; however small

COACHING IS NOT:

Life Coaching is not psychotherapy. Life coaching does not take place in an office lined with dusty old college books written by Freud, show casing a red velvet chase awaiting its next study. Furthermore, Life Coaching does not attempt to:

• Address symptoms related to a mental health diagnosis
• Resolve past issues responsible for current dysfunctions
• Gain insight into repressed/suppressed emotions or memories
• Keep you locked within your comfort zone
• Pose as an entity operating under state licensure as in psychotherapy
